The mass list table appears when you select the SIM Scan (Q1), SIM Scan (Q3), or SRM scan type in the Define Scan pane. To set different scan parameters for the precursor ions, add the parameters to the table.

Add a row to the mass list table

Procedure

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Select Add Row .
  3. Right-click the table, and then choose Add Row.

Delete a row from the mass list table

Procedure

  1. Select the row number to highlight the entire row.
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. Select Delete Selected Rows .
  4. Right-click the selected row, and then choose Delete Selected Rows.
  5. Press the DELETE key on your keyboard.

Delete multiple rows from the mass list table

Procedure

  1. Select the first row’s number to highlight the entire row.
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. For an adjacent row or group of sequential rows, use the SHIFT key as you make your selections.
  4. For an adjacent row or non-sequential rows, use the CTRL key as you make your selections.
  5. Do one of the following:
  6. Select Delete Selected Rows .
  7. Right-click the selected row, and then choose Delete Selected Rows.
  8. Press the DELETE key on your keyboard.

Add or remove scan parameters from the scan type table

Procedure

  1. Select Table to add the adjacent scan parameter to the table. Select it again to remove the parameter from the table.

Import a mass list from a file

You can use the contents of a mass list file to populate the columns in a scan type table in the Define Scan pane.

Procedure

  1. Select Import to open the Open dialog box.
  2. Browse to a CSV (Microsoft Excel™), a TXT, or an XML file, and then select Open.
  3. The list of m/z values appears in the table.

Export a mass list to a file

Procedure

  1. Complete the list of m/z values.
  2. Select Export to open the Save As dialog box.
  3. Browse to a location, enter a file name, and then select a file type (CSV, TXT Only, or XML Data).
  4. Select Save.
