The following table shows the options for the system control buttons available at the top of the Tune application window.

Tune instrument control buttons
Button	Function	Description
	Power mode	Sets the power mode for the MS (On, Standby, or Off). The center of the selected icon changes from white to green. See Set the instrument power mode.
	Ion polarity mode	Sets the ion polarity mode to either Positive or Negative.
	Data type	Sets the data type to either Centroid or Profile mode.
	Spectrum scan averaging	To turn On or Off the scan averaging feature. If scan averaging is turned On, set the scan averaging value.
	Divert/inject valve	Sets the valve module and valve position of the divert/injection valve.
	Syringe pump	Select Syringe On (Off ) to switch between on and off. To set the syringe pump parameters Procedure Select the down arrow. Then, type or select the values. The Tune application automatically saves the values. (Optional) Press and hold Prime to prime the syringe at 100 μL/min. Select the down arrow again or select elsewhere to close the box.
