After you reinstall the API source interface components in the cage, reinstall the API source interface cage in the MS, reinstall the external components of the API source interface, and reinstall the API source housing.

Procedure

  1. Orient the cage with the release latch at the top. See Vent the MS and remove the API source interface for reference, if needed.
  2. Carefully insert the cage into the vacuum manifold.
  3. Reinstall the ion transfer tube. See Reinstall the ion transfer tube.
  4. (Optional) Reinstall the ion sweep cone.
  5. Reinstall the API source housing. Refer to the ion source user guide.
  6. Start up the system as described in Restart the MS system afer a complete shutdown.
