After you remove, clean, and reinstall the external components of the API source, follow this procedure to check for any blockage.

To verify that the cleaning process unblocked the ion transfer tube

Procedure

  1. In the Tune window, open the Status pane, and then double-click Vacuum.
  3. Verify that the Source Pressure and Analyzer Pressure readback values are below the operating threshold limits.
  4. Normal readback measurements show a green square . If the ion transfer tube is blocked, the values are closer to 0 than those in the following table. Replace the tube if it is still blocked. A leak results in higher values than those in the table.
