Procedure

  1. Set up the system to infuse the target compound by high-flow infusion as follows:
  2. Fill the syringe with a solution of the target compound at a concentration of 100 to 1000 ng/mL.
  3. Plumb the system as follows:
  4. – Connect the sample line from the syringe to a union Tee.
  5. – Connect the solvent flow from the LC system to the union Tee
  6. – Connect the third leg of the union Tee to the grounding union on the ion source housing
  7. In the Tune window, set the syringe pump to infuse the sample at an initial flow rate of 5 μL/min. Then, increase the flow rate as necessary based on the peak intensity of the sample you are infusing.
  8. Set the LC pump to deliver mobile phase at the analytical flow rate specified in the instrument method and the solvent composition at which the target compound elutes from the LC column.
