The calibration probe is an option that ships with the TSQ Series II Plus models. If you have a second generation TSQ Series II mass spectrometer, you can order the calibration probe from Thermo Fisher Scientific.
NOTE
The calibration probe is not compatible with the EASY-Max NG API source or the Ion Max NG API source.
If you have a calibration probe, Thermo Fisher Scientific recommends that you use it instead of the H-ESI probe when you calibrate the MS, as the calibration probe is specifically designed for this purpose. After you run the calibration routine, uninstall the calibration probe and reinstall the H-ESI probe.
The installation procedure for the calibration probe is the same as the installation procedure for the H-ESI probe.
Procedure
- Adjust the probe height between L and M, except for the TSQ Endura MS.
NOTE
The TSQ Endura MS uses the EASY-Max NG API source, which does not provide any height adjustment for the probe.
- Adjust the front-to-back position of the probe (typically near position 1 and 1.5 for a syringe flow rate from 2 to 5 μL/min).
- Center the left-to-right position of the probe.
