In the On mode, the MS is ready for operation. To turn on the MS when it is in the Off state or Standby mode, do one of the following:

Turn on the MS from the Tune application

The MS is connected to the data system computer, the data system computer is turned on, and the MS is in the Off state or Standby mode.

Procedure

  1. Open the Tune application by doing one of the following:
  2. From the Windows taskbar, navigate to Start > Thermo Instruments > model Tune.
  3. –or–
  4. From the Windows desktop, select Tune .
  5. In the Tune window, select System On .
  6. The triangle turns from white to green , and the System LED on the front panel of the MS turns green.

Turn on the MS from the data system

The MS is connected to the data system computer, the data system computer is turned on, and the MS is in the Off state or Standby mode.

Procedure

  1. Open the Xcalibur data system.
  2. In the Status pane, right-click on the MS and select Turn Device On.

The System LED on the front panel of the MS turns green.
