Main power switch

In the Off position, the Main Power (circuit breaker) switch removes all power to the MS. In the On position, the MS receives power. In the standard operational mode, the switch stays in the On position.

Placing the Main Power switch in the Off position turns off any forepump connected to the MS through contact closure, but it does not turn off line power to the forepump, as it connects directly to the laboratory line power.

CAUTION

In an emergency, do not use the Electronics service switch to shut off power to the MS. Instead, place the main power circuit breaker switch (labeled Main Power) in the Off (down) position and disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.

Electronics service switch

In the Service Mode (down) position, the switch removes power to all components of the MS except for the fans and vacuum system. This setting allows you to service non-vacuum system components with the vacuum system still operating. In the Operating Mode (up) position, all components of the MS have power.

Pump enable connector (mechanical forepump)

The MS starts and stops the required forepump by using a relay control cable that connects to the forepump’s contact closure connector.
