IMPORTANT

Always reboot the data system computer when prompted during the installation.

Procedure

  1. Remove the TSQ mass spectrometer from the Chromeleon instrument configuration:
  2. Open the Chromeleon Services Manager.
  3. Select Configure instruments.
  4. Log on to the Chromeleon Instrument Configuration Manager.
  5. Expand your instruments list, right-click the Mass Spectrometer [model], and select Delete.
  6. Save your changes and exit the Chromeleon Instrument Configuration Manager.
  7. Install the Chromeleon CDS and follow the installation wizard to upgrade the software.
  8. Install TSQ Series II 4.0:
  9. Launch the TSQ Series II installer (TSQSeriesIIFullSetup-x.x.exe).
  10. Follow the installation wizard to remove the earlier version of software.
  11. Select your instrument model.
  12. Enter your instrument serial number (if the instrument is connected to the computer the serial number is automatically populated).
  13. View the software license agreement and enable the check-box to accept the terms.
  14. Select Install.
  15. NOTE

    The installer will uninstall any earlier version of the software and install the TSQ Series II 4.0 software, if applicable. User documentation is included as part of the installation.

  16. After the installation is completed, select Documents on the upper right-hand of the window to view the available manuals, release notes, and installation instructions.
  17. Select Close to exit the TSQ Series II installer.
  18. IMPORTANT

    For full functionality TSQ Series II 4.0 is compatible with Chromeleon version 7.2.10 MUh or later and 7.3.2 MUc or later. Due to interface changes, TSQ Series II 4.0 is not compatible with previous versions of Chromeleon CDS.

  19. Launch the Chromeleon Instrument Configuration Manager.
  20. Add the TSQ mass spectrometer to the Chromeleon instrument configuration.
  21. From the Chromeleon CDS, open the Thermo MS Tuning ePanel, and then select System Check from the Calibration page.
  22. Select Start.
  23. The system checks all of the essential MS calibration parameters and re-calibrates any failed parameter.

    Contact Thermo Fisher Scientific Technical Support if your system does not pass all calibrations.
