Procedure

  1. Select the Scan Parameters tab.
  2. Select the experiment type that you want to perform from the Quan view, Hybrid view, or Templates view. Then double-click the icon or drag it to the "Place Scan Here" node in the Experiment window.
  3. Enter your experiment parameters, as applicable.
  4. Select the Templates View icon and select Save as Template.
  5. Browse to a destination path, type a file name, and select Save.
  6. In the Save Method Template dialog box, select one of the following options:
  7. Current Experiment Only: If there are two or more experiments in the method timeline, only the marked experiment is saved as a method template.
  8. All Experiments: If there are two or more experiments in the method timeline, all experiments in the method timeline are saved as a method template.
  9. (Optional) Include Current Global Parameters in the Template: If unchecked, only the scan parameters of the method are saved. If checked, scan parameters and global parameters (such as ion source settings) are saved in the template.
  10. Select OK to save the template.
  11. Once saved, the new template is listed under the Templates View > Custom Templates area.

NOTE

Templates must be saved within the Templates directory under a subfolder. You can use the default "My Experiments" folder or you can create custom subfolder.
