Reinstall the ion sweep cone after you have cleaned it or removed it to access other components of the API source interface.

The following figures shows the installation alignment pins on the ion sweep cone and the alignment receptacles on the API source interface.

Prerequisites

  1. Put on a new pair of powder-free gloves.

Procedure

  1. Align the pins on the back of the ion sweep cone with the receptacles on the API source interface.
  2. Fit the ion sweep cone onto the spray cone and press firmly so that there are no gaps between the ion sweep cone and the white ceramic ring on the API source interface.
  3. If needed, tighten the screws on the ion sweep cone to hold it in place.

  4. IMPORTANT

    Do not overtighten the screws, as overtightening can skew the placement of the ion sweep cone.
