Use the instrument control software to calibrate the MS and keep it running at peak performance. Proper setup of the calibration workflow and parameters can significantly reduce the total time needed to calibrate your instrument. Calibration parameters are MS parameters whose values do not vary with the type of experiment.
NOTE
It is not necessary to calibrate the MS as part of your daily routine. Thermo Fisher Scientific recommends performing the instrument calibration every 28 days.
The following workflows can be used to calibrate the MS:
- (Recommended) Calibrate in ESI mode using the internal Auto-Ready™ calibration hardware.
- Calibrate in ESI mode using a syringe pump and the low-flow ESI probe to introduce the calibration solution into the instrument at a steady flow rate.
