IMPORTANT

This is an emergency shutdown procedure. Do not use this method for a standard shutdown. For the standard shutdown procedure, see Shut Down the MS.

The following figure shows the power entry module located on the right side of the MS with the Main Power switch in the Off position.

Procedure

Turn off the Main Power switch. If you cannot safely reach the Main Power switch, unplug the power cord from the laboratory wall outlet.

NOTE

The Main Power switch turns off all power to the MS, including the forepump, without harming any components within the instrument.
