It is not required to install the WebAPI Service on every machine that hosts a Chromeleon multi-user data vault. When you install the WebAPI Service, specify at least one entry point to connect to a Chromeleon domain. Thermo Scientific recommends to place this entry point on a data vault server.

Optionally, install the WebAPI Service on an instrument PC (IPC) to improve instrument-related web API calls, for example, queuing sequences or adding injections to running sequences. This ensures that the web API calls are applied directly to the connected instrument devices and are not made as remote calls.
