The Thermo Scientific™ Ardia™ Platform is an integrated application and data platform that facilitates the storage, management, analysis, and sharing of chromatography and mass spectrometry data. The Ardia Platform is deployed on one of three different Linux servers, and that server is physically installed in the same local network as the mass spectrometer and data analysis PCs.

To learn more about the Ardia Platform, visit the Ardia home page here: https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/digital-solutions/ardia-platform.html.

Some Thermo Scientific applications can be registered with the Ardia Platform, which enables new features in third party applications. The Proteome Discoverer 3.1 application is specifically designed to pair with the Ardia Advanced Tower Server. After you register your Ardia Platform license, you can do the following:

  • Load remote injections from an Ardia Platform server into a study from the Proteome Discoverer application.
  • Load remote results from the Proteome Discoverer application from an Ardia Platform server.
  • Publish analysis results from a Proteome Discoverer study to an Ardia Platform server.
  • Access the CHIMERYS service on the Ardia Advanced Tower Server by using the CHIMERYS on Ardia node.
  • Run more concurrent CHIMERYS analyses (up to 20) on the Ardia Platform server than that offered by any CHIMERYS cloud plan.

If the Xcalibur 4.7 data system that is installed on an instrument PC is connected to the same Ardia Platform as the Proteome Discoverer application, sequences from the Xcalibur data system can be configured to include the following:

  • An analysis from the Proteome Discoverer application
  • A quan method from the Proteome Discoverer application
  • A target folder for storing result files

With this setup, the raw data file immediately uploads to the Ardia Platform post-acquisition. Subsequently, the Ardia Platform triggers the analysis on the Proteome Discoverer processing PC by using the selected analysis and quan method. After the analysis has completed on the Proteome Discoverer instrument PC, the results automatically upload to the Ardia server.
