The following table lists the parameters on the Pie Charts view.

Parameters in the Pie Charts view

Command or Option

Description

Options pane

Loads the Option pane settings that you saved with the Save command.

Saves the settings that you selected in the Options pane.

 

Resets the option settings in the Options pane to their defaults when you installed the application.

Chart Options

Chart Type

Specifies the type of pie chart to display:

  • (Default) Pie: Displays the chart as a solid circle composed of slices.
  • Doughnut: Displays the chart as a circle with a hole in the middle.

Vertical Rotation

Specifies the angle of rotation around the vertical axis.

Default: 0

Angle of First Slice

Specifies the location of the first chart slice.

Default: 0

Pie Slice Options

Show Type Name with Value

Determines whether to display the name of the data group next to the value.

  • True: Displays the name of the data group next to the value.
  • (Default) False: Does not display the name of the data group next to the value.

Show Slice Amount

Determines whether to display the amount of each slice.

  • (Default) True: Displays the amount of each slice.
  • False: Does not display the amount of each slice.

Show Slice Percentage

Determines whether to display the percentage of each slice.

  • (Default) True: Displays the percentage of each slice.
  • False: Does not display the percentage of each slice.

Label Style

Specifies the label style of the chart segments.

  • Disabled: Does not display a label.
  • (Default) Inside: Displays the label on top of the chart segment.
  • Outside: Displays the label outside the chart segment.

Labels Font

Specifies the font of the data set labels.

Default: 9-point Microsoft Trebuchet bold

To display aspects of the label font that you can change, select the arrow to the left of Labels Font option.

  • Name: Specifies the label font; default: Microsoft Trebuchet
  • Size: Specifies the size of the legend font; default: 9
  • Unit: Specifies the unit for measuring the size of the legend font. Default: Point
  • Bold: Specifies the weight of the legend font.
    - (Default) True: Displays labels in bold font.
    - False: Displays labels in normal font.
  • GdiCharSet: Specifies a byte value that indicates the GDI character set to use with the selected font; default: 1
  • GdiVerticalFont: Gets a Boolean value that indicates whether the selected font is derived from a GDI vertical font.
    - True: The selected font is derived from a GDI vertical font.
    - (Default) False: The selected font is not derived from a GDI vertical font.
  • Italic: Determines whether to italicize the selected font.
    - True: Italicizes the selected font.
    - (Default) False: Does not italicize the selected font.
  • Strikeout: Determines whether to display the selected font shown with strikeout lines through it.
    - True: Displays the selected font with strikeout lines through it.
    - (Default) False: Does not display the selected font with strikeout lines through it.

Small Slices Options

Collect Small Segments

Determines whether to consolidate small segments together in a single slice.

  • (Default) True: Consolidates small segments into a single slice.
  • False: Leaves small segments as is.

Small Slice Threshold (%)

Specifies a percentage threshold for the slices to be consolidated into a single slice.

Default: 5%

Small Slice Collection Label

Specifies the label for the pie segment composed of consolidated segments.

Default: Other

Small Slice Collection Color

Specifies the color of the pie segment composed of consolidated segments.

Default: Gray

Show as Supplemental Pie

Determines whether to display small segments as a supplemental pie chart.

  • True: Displays small segments as a supplemental pie chart.
  • (Default) False: Leaves small segments as is.

Supplemental Pie Size

Specifies the size of the supplemental pie chart relative to the original pie chart.

  • Largest: Displays it as much larger than the original pie chart.
  • Larger: Displays it as larger than the original pie chart.
  • Comparable: Displays it as about the same size as the original pie chart.
  • (Default) Smaller: Displays it as smaller than the original pie chart.
  • Smallest: Displays it as much smaller than the original pie chart.

Data Source

Displays the result category to plot the data from. The categories are as follows: Protein Groups, Proteins, Peptide groups, PSMs, or MS/MS Spectrum Info.
