You can add a new channel rather than modify an existing channel template, follow these instructions when the Quantification Method Editor opens.

Prerequisites

  1. You have the Quantification Method Editor dialog box open. See Create a quantification method.

Procedure

  1. Select the plus button (+) beneath the list of labels in the box on the far left.
  2. The following default name appears in the list of quantification channels in the box at the far left of the dialog box and in the Channel Name box: New Number.
  3. (Optional) To remove a quantification channel, select the quantification channel in the list of quantification channels and select the minus button (–) beneath the list.
  4. To specify a name for the new quantification channel, do the following:
  5. Delete the default name in the Channel Name box.
  6. Enter the new name.
  7. The new name now appears in the quantification channel (far left) box.
  8. To specify a quantification label to assign to the new quantification channel, select the plus button (+) beneath the Quantification Labels box.
  9. A default quantification label of New number now appears in the Quantification Labels box and the Label Name box.
  10. (Optional) To remove an existing quantification label, do the following:
  11. Select the label in the Quantification Labels box and select the minus button (–) beneath the box.
  12. Delete the label name in the Label Name box and then enter the new name.
  13. In the Modification dropdown box, select the modification for the amino acid label.
  14. In the box to the right of the Modification box, select the abbreviation of the amino acid selected in the Quantification Labels box that the modification should occur on.
  15. Select OK.
  16. The Save Quantification Method dialog box opens.
  17. In the Save as New Method box, enter the name of the new method.
  18. Select Save.
  19. The new quantification method appears in the Quantification Methods view.
