You can only use this procedure to update FASTA databases that you originally downloaded directly from the Annotation Server. The data on the Annotation Server is updated periodically.

Procedure

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. From the application menu bar, select Administration > Maintain FASTA Files.
  3. Select Maintain FASTA Files .
  4. The Administration page opens with the FASTA Files view.
  5. Select to the left of a database row to check for updated information for that database.
  6. Select Check for Updates.
  7. The application now displays the search for updates as a job running in the job queue.
  8. When the job queue displays "Completed" in the Execution State column, close the Proteome Discoverer application and then reopen it.
  9. Select Administration > Maintain FASTA Files, or select Maintain FASTA Files .
  10. In the Update Available column of the FASTA Files view, the checkbox is selected for databases that have an available update.
  12. Select to the left of a database row with the Update Available checkbox selected.
  13. The Update button becomes available.
  14. Select Update.
  15. The application displays the update as a job running in the job queue.
  16. (Optional) When the job queue displays "Completed" in the Execution State column, select FASTA Files under Content Management to return to the FASTA Files view.
