You can import FASTA files from a local drive

Procedure

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. From the application menu bar, select Administration > Maintain FASTA Files.
  3. Select Maintain FASTA Files .
  4. The Administration page opens with the FASTA Files view.
  5. Select Add.
  6. In the Open dialog box, locate and select the FASTA file that you want to register, and then select Open.
  7. The FASTA file that you selected appears as a job in the job queue. To cancel the addition of this file, select Abort.
  8. When you see “Completed” in the Execution State column, the database has finished downloading.
  9. To add another FASTA file, do the following:
  10. Wait until the Execution State column indicates that the addition of the FASTA file is completed.
  11. Select FASTA Files in the left pane of the Administration page under Content Management.
  12. Select Add.
  13. The amount of time that it takes to import a FASTA file depends on the file size. When the application finishes importing a FASTA file, it displays “Available” in the Status column. This status indicates that the FASTA file is now available to use for a protein or peptide search with the Proteome Discoverer application.
