Procedure

1. Open your search results in the result file. See Organizing results.
2. On the Proteins page, select the proteins that you want to export by selecting the checkbox next to the proteins that you want to export.
3. Select File > Export > To FASTA.
4. The Export to FASTA dialog box opens.

4. In the Destination Folder box, enter the path and name of the file where you want to save the exported protein references and sequences; or locate the file, select it, and select Save in the Save As dialog box.
5. The application automatically changes the suffix of the results file from result to .fasta.
5. To export only the references and sequences of the selected proteins to the FASTA file, do the following:
1. In the Proteins page of the result file, select the checkbox to the left of each protein that you want to export. For information, see Check items on the pages of a result file.
2. In the Export to FASTA dialog box, select the Checked Proteins Only checkbox.
3. If you do not select the Checked Proteins Only checkbox, the application exports the references and sequences of all proteins.
6. Select Export, or to close the Export to FASTA dialog box without exporting any results, select Close.
