The Noise Peak Filter node removes all peaks from the processed mass lists that fall below the specified signal-to-noise ratio threshold. The Noise Peak Filter works only on mass lists derived from spectra acquired with an FT mass analyzer. It has no effect if used with spectra acquired with other mass analyzers, such as ion traps. This node is useful if you want to divide your workflow into two or more paths and want to assign different signal-to-noise thresholds to each path.

The following table describes the parameter for the Noise Peak Filter node.

Noise Peak Filter node parameter

Parameters

Description

S/N Threshold (FT-only)

Specifies a signal-to-noise value below which peaks are removed. The S/N threshold has an effect on FT data only. Data acquired with other mass analyzers is not affected.

Range: 0.0–no maximum; default: 1.5
