When you apply one of the commands in the View menu to the pages of the result file, the application opens a search results view, such as the Sequence Comparison view or the Extracted Ion Chromatogram view. You can use the icons in this view to hide a view, move it, open it as separate views, and close it.

You can also use similar icons to relocate the Workflow Nodes and Parameters panes of the Processing Workflow and Consensus Workflow windows in the Workflow Editor.

Permanently hide a results view or pane

In the upper right of the search results view, select the down arrow, , and choose Hide to remove the search results window.

You cannot retrieve the view. You must choose the appropriate Show command or icon again to reconstruct the view.

Temporarily hide a results view or pane

In the upper right of the search results view, select the Auto Hide, , or select the down arrow, , and choose Auto Hide.

The search report view closes but reopens when you point to the tab at the bottom of the view. When you point to the area above the search report view, the view closes again.

Select the Auto Hide, , again to turn off the Auto Hide feature.

Move a results view or pane

Drag the view by its title bar.

The group of pointers appears in the middle, along with additional pointers at a distance.

Drag the window until the cursor aligns with the appropriate pointer. For example, if you want to position the search results window to the right of the results report, drag the search results window until the cursor lines up with the right pointer, .

Open a results view or pane as a separate window

Select and choose Floating.

By default, the view opens as a separate window in the upper left of the screen.

To change the separate window or pane back into a view, right-click and choose Floating.

Close a results view or pane

Select .
