You can visually verify matches between measured spectra from your experiment and a spectrum predicted using the INFERYS algorithm for peptides fragmented using a supported fragmentation method and target sequence with supported PTMs.

Procedure

  1. After you open a result, select the PSMs page.
  2. Double-click the row of interest.
  3. The Peptide Spectrum Match Identification Details view opens.
  4. Select the Show Reference Spectrum checkbox.
  5. In the Ref Spectrum Source dropdown, select one of the following:
  6. From Identifying Node
  7. If you select this option, the cloud prediction is used for PSMs produced by CHIMERYS, and the local INFERYS prediction is used for local database searches.
  8. Spectrum Library
  9. Inferys (local)
  10. inferys_3_0_fragmentation
  11. inferys_2_1_fragmentation
  12. This model is made available by the CHIMERYS cloud service and is only available if activated.
  13. NOTE

The name of this model might change over time as new prediction models are made available.

  14. The following figure is an example of an INFERYS predicted spectrum.
  15. Mirror plot in the Peptide Spectrum Match Identification Details view for a PSM produced by CHIMERYS. The predicted spectrum for the identified spectrum is shown on the lower half of the Fragment Spectrum.

If the reference spectrum is activated and a selected PSM does not support prediction, a message displays on the spectrum, as shown in the following figure.

Example of an identified peptide that is not currently supported by the INFERYS Prediction Model. In this case, a message displays in the user interface stating that the model is unsupported.
