Use the Custom Tags Editor to customize the number of available tags and the colors and text labels for these color-coded tags, which appear in the Tags column of a result table.

By default, the Tags column contains five tags. From left to right, the subcolumn headings for the tags are labeled A, B, C, D, and E, and the tag colors are set to blue, red, yellow, green, and purple. You can add more tags (up to 15) or remove tags (you can remove all tags).

Procedure

  1. Open a result file.
  2. From the menu bar, select View > Custom Tags Editor.
  3. (Optional) If you have created a stored custom tags file (.tags) and you want to edit it, do the following:
  4. Select Import and then select the file that you want to edit.
  5. In the Custom Tags Editor, select the checkboxes of the tags that you want to display in the Tags columns of the result tables in the current result file.
  6. To modify the colors and text labels for the tags, follow the instructions in the following table.
  7. You use the Color dialog box to modify the colors.
Changing the color and label of the tags for a result file

Change the color of a tag to a different standard color.

Procedure

  1. In the Custom Tags Editor, select the color circle of the tag whose color you want to change.
  2. In the Color dialog box that opens, select a color from the set of basic colors and then select OK.

Change the color of a tag to a custom color.

Procedure

  1. In the Custom Tags Editor, select the color circle of the tag whose color you want to change.
  2. In the Color dialog box that opens, select Define Custom Colors.
  3. Create a custom color by doing one of the following:
  4. Select a color in the color gradient area.
  5. Enter values into either the Red, Green, and Blue (RBG) boxes or the Hue, Saturation, and Luminosity (HSL) boxes.
  6. Select Add to Custom Colors.
  7. The created color is added to the Custom Colors area.
  8. Select the custom color and then select OK.
  9. The color of the selected tag in the Custom Tag Editor changes to the selected color.

Change the text label for a tag.

  • In the Custom Tags Editor, select the current text in the text box, and then enter your custom text label.
  1. To apply the custom settings in the Custom Tags Editor dialog box to the tags in the current result file, select Apply.
  2. The Custom Tags Editor dialog box remains open until you close it.
  3. (Optional) To export the defined tags to an external file that you can use with any result file, do the following:
  4. Select Export.
  5. The Save Custom Tags Editor Settings dialog box opens.
  6. Name the file, select its storage location, and select Save.
