For reporter ion quantification, a quantification channel is one of several masses, states, or tags (depending on which quantification method you use) for which you measure a quantification value. The application calculates the reported quantification ratios from the quantification values of the different quantification channels.
For example, for iTRAQ 4plex, the four different reporter tags (114, 115, 116, and 117) are the four quantification channels of the iTRAQ 4plex method. The application calculates the ratios from the detected quantification values of the four quantification channels.
The following table lists the masses of the reporter ions of the tags available in the different TMT kits. The masses for the original TMT reagents, which are no longer available, are included for reference.
Tag | Mass | TMT 2plex |
| Iodo TMT 6plex | TMT 10plex | TMT 11plex | TMT 16plex | TMT 18plex |
