The following table describes the options and columns in the FASTA Parsing Rules view.

Options and columns in the FASTA Parsing Rules view

Parameters

Description

Saves the new or changed parsing rules. After you select Apply, the rules are available in newly created consensus workflows.

Adds a new parsing rule to the selected parsing rule category.

Deletes the selected parsing rule.

Lets you edit the selected rule. The standard parsing rule used by default is read-only and therefore unchangeable.

Returns the parsing rules to the last saved version.

Returns the parsing rules to the default settings installed with the application.

Parsing Rule Selection

Displays the four categories into which the application groups FASTA parsing rules:

  • Title Line Rules
  • Accession Rules
  • Taxonomy Rules
  • Avoid Expression Rules

These categories correspond to the four parsing rule parameters (Title Line Rule, Preferred Accession, Preferred Taxonomy, and Avoid Expressions) of the MSF Files node. See MSF Files node.

List of parsing rules

Displays all available FASTA parsing rules in the selected category. This list corresponds to the available values of the Title Line Rule parameter of the MSF Files node (see MSF Files node). If you select a single entry, the FASTA Parsing Rules view displays the parsing rule in the parsing rule area on the right.

Name

Displays the name of the FASTA parsing rule.

Parsing rule text area

Displays the regular expression of the FASTA parsing rule shown in the Name box. This area is not available until you select .

Load FASTA File

Activates the Open FASTA File dialog box so that you can select a FASTA file.

Test area

Loads the title lines of a sample FASTA file to test the matching of the expression.
