The following table describes the parameters in the Download from the Protein Annotation server dialog box.

Download from the Protein Annotation server dialog box parameters

Parameter

Description

Taxonomy ID

Specifies the taxonomy identification number of the organism. This unique number identifies a biological species, a special subspecies, or a bacterial strain.

Database

Specifies the name of the source database from which the proteins were downloaded.

Default: SwissProt

Include All Subcategories

Includes in the downloaded protein database both the species data for the taxonomy identification number that you entered and the data for all subspecies or subcategories in that species. For example, taxonomy identification number 9606 denotes the protein database for Homo sapiens (humans), but if you select the Include All Subcategories checkbox, the database includes the proteins for both the Homo sapiens ssp. Denisova subspecies (taxonomy number 741158) and the Homo sapiens neanderthalensis subspecies (taxonomy number 63221).

Browse Taxonomy ID

Displays two URLs that open the Taxonomy web browser from the NCBI and the Taxonomy Results web browser from UniProt. You must have web access to a taxonomy browser to search for the taxonomy identification of a species if the identification number is unknown.

Import

Downloads the protein database from the annotation server.

Close

Closes the dialog box without searching or effecting any change.
