Procedure

  1. In Windows Explorer, open the Proteome Discoverer application folder structure, and open the Fasta Files folder.
  2. TIP

    If you do not have the Proteome Discoverer application media, you can download it in a zip file from the Thermo Scientific Software Download and Licensing Portal https://thermo.flexnetoperations.com.

  3. Copy the Homo sapiens (sp_incl_isoforms TaxID=9606).fasta file and the Escherichia coli (strain K12) (sp_canonical TaxID=83333).fasta file to a local directory.
  4. On the Proteome Discoverer application Start Page, select Administration > Maintain FASTA files.
  5. Select Add.
  6. Go to the local directory, and select Homo sapiens (sp_incl_isoforms TaxID=9606).fasta.
  7. The application indexes the file and adds it to the list of available databases.
  8. Select Administration > Maintain FASTA files.
  9. Select Add.
  10. Go to the local directory, and select Escherichia coli (strain K12) (sp_canonical TaxID=83333).fasta.
  11. The application indexes the file and adds it to the list of available databases.
  12. Continue with Create the study.
