You can control the syringe pump during an instrument method. Select the Syringe checkbox to display the Syringe Properties pane and enable time dependence for the syringe pump. The area to the right of the Syringe icon graphically displays the syringe pump’s on/off status over time as a timeline.

In the syringe pump position table, you can import or export settings using a .csv, .txt, or .xml file.

NOTE

  • Hover the pointer over a parameter name to view the tooltip description.
  • When you change a parameter value, it appears in bold until you save the method.
    – A red highlighted parameter box indicates that the value is outside the operational range.
    – A yellow highlighted parameter box indicates that the value is outside the optimum range.
  • Select the Summary tab to view the instrument method settings.

 

The following table describes the parameters in the Syringe Properties pane.

Flow Rate (µL/min)

Specify the flow rate (in microliters per minute).

The volume of solution per unit of time (in microliters per minute) that the syringe pump injects (the syringe pump flow rate).

Range: 0.001 to (syringe volume in µL/min); default: 3

Syringe Volume (µL)

Specify the syringe volume (in microliters).

Range: 50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 5,000, and 10,000; default: 500

 

Syringe Pump Position Table

Time (min)

The time (in minutes) when the syringe pump changes between On and Off, or Off and On.

Range: 0 to the maximum method duration (5,000 maximum); default: 0

Position

The syringe pump is on or off at the corresponding time.

Default: On
