Use the Precursor Selection Range filter to select precursors from a narrower range than the range that was scanned. You can set a mass-to-charge ratio selection range (m/z). After an MSn scan, you can set a range that is relative to the precursor ion (%). You can add a precursor selection range filter after any scan.

NOTE

You cannot set the precursor selection range outside of the scan range.

Mass Range (m/z)

Define mass range from which precursors will be selected for data-dependent scans.

This filter is optional. If the filter is not used, the mass range defaults to the scan range of the master scan.

Range Relative to Parent m/z (%)

Define mass range (relative to parent) from which precursors will be selected for data-dependent scans.

This filter is optional. If the filter is not used, the mass range defaults to the scan range of the master scan.

Use this filter to define a subset of the scan range from which precursors will be selected for data-dependent scans.

In this example, if the precursor is at m/z 500 and the range relative to parent m/z is set to 10–150%, the selection range for subsequent scans will be from m/z 50–750.
