Depending on its location in the workflow, a filter acts as either a pre-filter (applied toward all outcomes [branches] that follow) or a post-filter (applied toward a specific outcome [branch]). If a workflow does not have multiple outcomes after a filter, the filter acts as a pre-filter only. If you add dependent scans after a filter, the original filter does not move and acts as a pre-filter. The example below shows how the Method Editor uses boolean AND/OR logic to process filter groups that are located above a data-dependent scan.

The Method Editor deactivates all filters that are not appropriate for the workflow.
