In the Protein Sequence Editor, you can save a protein sequence as new sequence or overwrite an existing sequence.

Save a new sequence

Prerequisites

  1. You are editing a protein sequence in the Protein Sequence Editor.

Procedure

  1. In the Protein Sequence Editor, select Save As New on the command bar.
  2. The Save As New dialog box opens.

  4. In the New Sequence Name box, type a name for the new protein sequence.
  5. (Optional) In the Description box, type a description of the new protein sequence.
  6. Select OK.
  7. The new sequence is added to the Sequence Manager table.

Overwrite an existing sequence

Prerequisites

  1. You are editing a protein sequence in the Protein Sequence Editor.

Procedure

  1. In the Protein Sequence Editor, select Save on the command bar.
  2. If the sequence is new, the sequence is added to the Sequence Manager table using the specified name/description.
  3. If the sequence exists, an overwrite warning prompt appears.
  4. Select Yes to overwrite the existing sequence with the new sequence.
  5. The sequence is updated in the Sequence Manager table.
