The following table describes the parameters in the Modification Editor pane of the Protein Sequence Editor.

Modification Editor pane parameters
Parameter	Description
Modifications	Lists the default and custom N-terminal, C-terminal, and side-chain modifications available to assign to the protein sequence.
Mono. Mass	Displays the monoisotopic mass of the selected modification.
Avg. Mass	Displays the average mass of the selected modification.
Residues (Side Chain area)	Displays the amino acid letter code(s) for the residue(s) associated with the selected modification.

The following table describes the commands in the Modification Editor pane of the Protein Sequence Editor.

Modification Editor pane commands
Button	Description
Add	Opens the Add New Modification dialog box to create a new custom modification.
Delete	Deletes the selected custom modification from the Modifications lists in the Variable Modifications for Intact and Peptide Analysis and Modification Editor panes.
