Reposition panes
Procedure
- To reposition a pane in the application, right-click the title bar of the pane or select the down arrow icon (v) on the right side of the title bar to open the shortcut menu.
- Select the appropriate command:
- To detach the pane into a floating window, select Floating.
- To dock the pane to the main window, select Dockable. Then, either double-click the title bar of the pane or drag the pane on top of an up, down, left, or right icon in the View Arranger tool.
- To change to a tabbed pane, select Tabbed Document.
- You can have multiple tabbed panes overlaying each other.
- Select the tab to bring the contents of that pane to the front.

- The application hides the pane but displays its tab next to the left, right, or bottom edge of the nearest window, whichever side is closest to the hidden pane.
- When the Auto Hide mode is enabled for a pane, you control the visibility of the pane with your cursor:
- To show a hidden pane, hold your cursor over the tab.
- To hide the pane again, move your cursor away from the tab.
- To turn off the Auto Hide function, deselect Auto Hide in the shortcut menu again.
