Procedure
- Verify that the Dionex Inuvion IC System is connected to Chromeleon CDS.
- Verify that the pump flow is off. If the pump is on, turn off the pump from the Chromeleon CDS ePanel.
- Open the purge valve.
- Open the Chromeleon CDS Command window and select the Pistons_Undock check box.
Figure Analytical pump undock command in Chromeleon CDS - Remove all tubing connections to the analytical pump head.
Figure Analytical pump head fluidic connections - Using a size 6 hexagon wrench, loosen and remove the large, metal pump head screw on the left side of the pump. Save the screw for reuse.
NOTE
While loosening screws, support the pump head with your hand to prevent it from falling off the system.
Figure Analytical pump head screw - Remove the whole pump head assembly by pulling it straight out of the system.
Figure Analytical pump head assembly - Install the replacement pump head assembly in reverse order; start by placing the new pump head assembly into the system.
- Use the reserved screw to reattach the pump head to the system. Tighten the screw to finger-tight initially.
Figure Analytical pump head initial finger-tight procedure - Use the short arm of the hexagon wrench to turn the screw 45 degrees (one-quarter turn) to finish tightening the screw. Do not overtighten the screw.
Figure Analytical pump head final tightening procedure - Reconnect all tubing previously removed from the old analytical pump head.
- Open the Chromeleon CDS Command window and select the Pistons_Dock check box.
Figure Analytical pump dock command - Prime the analytical pump, and then close the purge valve.
- Start the analytical pump from the Inuvion ePanel.
