Thermo Fisher Scientific recommends using a seal wash pump when eluents are manually prepared. Seal washing prolongs the life of the pistons and seals by preventing crystallization and particle deposits on the piston surfaces and seals of the pump head. These can affect pump performance.

NOTE

The piston seal wash option is not intended for use with the RFIC setup, which pumps only deionized water.

Procedure

  1. Turn off the Dionex Inuvion IC System main power switch on the rear panel of the system.
  2. DANGER

HIGH VOLTAGE—Disconnect the main power cord from its source and also from the rear panel of the Dionex Inuvion IC System.

  3. Locate the new seal wash pump kit (P/N 22185-62701) (see the following image).
