A regenerant pump is included in the Dionex Inuvion and Dionex Inuvion with RFIC Systems. The pump is installed when the Thermo Fisher Scientific service engineer sets up the system. However, users may need to install, maintain, and/or replace the regenerant pump.

The parts required include the regenerant pump, any tubing and connectors included in the regenerant pump kit (P/N 22185-62702), and a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Procedure

  1. Turn off the Dionex Inuvion IC System main power switch on the rear panel of the system.
  2. WARNING

Disconnect the main power cord from its source and also from the rear panel of the Dionex Inuvion IC System.

  3. Open the system front door and locate the auxiliary port; this is located to the left of the main injection valve and is covered with a panel.
  4. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew the two panel screws and pull the auxiliary port panel off the system.
  5. If an auxiliary valve is already installed, remove this to access the auxiliary port.
  6. The auxiliary port contains two electrical connectors of differing sizes. Connect the regenerant pump to the matching electrical connector.
  7. Attach the pump to the system by fastening the two outermost screws.
  8. Turn the regenerant pump knob 180 degrees counterclockwise to open the pump casing and access the rollers that squeeze tubing to create the peristaltic pressure.
  9. Install the regenerant pump tubing on top of the rollers. Align the tubing along the grooves located at each side of the pump opening (see the following image).
  10. Turn the knob clockwise 180 degrees to close the roller access opening. Verify that the tubing extending beyond the regenerant pump casing is correctly positioned between the grooves and is not misaligned or pinched.
  11. Attach the regenerant source tubing to the front end of the regenerant pump tubing, using the connector provided in the Ship Kit. (In terms of flow, the source is to the left and the destination is to the right.)
  12. Attach the waste tubing to the other end of the pump and direct it to waste.
  13. Reconnect the main power cord and turn on the power.
