A regenerant pump (P/N 22185-62702) is an optional accessory for the Dionex Inuvion Core System, the Dionex Inuvion System, and the Dionex Inuvion IC System with RFIC.
If you purchase the regenerant pump, it will be installed when the Thermo Fisher Scientific service engineer sets up the Dionex Inuvion IC System. However, users may also need to install, maintain, and/or replace the regenerant pump, as detailed here.
To begin, check that the following items are on hand: regenerant pump, any tubing and connectors included in the regenerant pump ship kit (P/N 22185-62702), and a Phillips-head screwdriver.
Procedure
- Open the Dionex Inuvion IC System front door and find the accessory panel cover located to the left of the main injection valve.
- Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew the two panel screws, and pull the accessory panel off the system.
- If an auxiliary valve is already installed, remove this to access the accessory port.
- The accessory opening contains two electrical connectors of differing sizes. Connect the regenerant pump to the matching electrical connector.
- Attach the pump to the system by fastening the two outermost screws.
- Turn the regenerant pump knob 180 degrees counterclockwise to open the pump casing and access the rollers that squeeze tubing to create the peristaltic pressure.
- Install the regenerant pump tubing on top of the rollers. Align the tubing along the grooves located at each side of the pump opening. Turn the knob clockwise 180 degrees to close the roller access opening.
- Ensure the correct positioning of tubing extending beyond the pump casing; the tubing should lay between the grooves without any pinching or misalignment.
- Attach the regenerant source tubing to the front end of the pump tubing, using the connector provided in the ship kit. Attach waste tubing to the other end of the pump and route it to waste.
- On the Inuvion ePanel, select the Regen Pump button from the Valves section to turn on the regenerant pump and set the preferred flow rate. When the system is turned on, the flow rate is set to the default of 3.0 mL/min.
