- Replace the end-line filter (P/N 045987) on the deionized water line.
- Check for crimps or discoloration in the fluid lines. Replace any pinched or damaged tubing promptly. Tubing associated with the regenerant pump should be replaced every three months (see the following images).
NOTE
Pay particular attention to tubing under mechanical stress, such as the tubing used within and around the peristaltic regenerant and seal wash pumps, which is compressed between rollers to create pressure. This repeated mechanical stress fatigues the tubing, stiffening it and reducing both output and system performance.
- Check for evidence of liquid leaks around all pump tubing connections. If the piston seal wash tubing is not connected, check for evidence of moisture in the drain tubes at the rear of the pump heads. Normal friction and resulting wear may gradually cause small liquid leaks around the piston seal. If unchecked, these leaks will eventually contaminate the piston housing, causing the pump to operate poorly. If leaks occur, replace the piston seals (see Remove and replace the pistons, analytical pump seals, and O-rings).
