The Dionex Inuvion IC System TTL inputs respond to four types of signals. The default control type, Normal Edge, is compatible with the output signals provided by the Dionex modules.

If the device connected to the Dionex Inuvion IC System does not send a normal edge signal, select the appropriate control type. To select the correct control type, refer to both the documentation provided with the controlling device and the information below.

Schematic

Normal Edge: In normal edge operation, the negative (falling) edge of a signal turns on the function. For example, for the Load/Inject function, the negative edge switches the injection valve position to Load.

The action of the positive (rising) edge depends on the function:

  • Load/Inject switches the injection valve to the Inject position.
  • Pump On turns off the pump (and suppressor).
  • Autozero and Mark have no effect.

Inverted Edge: The inverted edge mode works identical to the Normal Edge mode, except that the positive and negative edges are reversed in function.

Normal Pulse: In normal pulse operation, the negative (falling) edge of the TTL signal is the active edge and the positive (rising) edge is ignored.

  • A pulse width of 50 ms or more is guaranteed to be detected.
  • A pulse width of 4 ms or less is guaranteed to be ignored.
  • The action for pulse width between 4 ms and 50 ms is undefined.

Inverted Pulse: The inverted pulse mode operates identical to the normal pulse mode, except that the positive and negative edges are reversed in function.
