The auxiliary valve is used for sample preparation and as an additional injection valve. Auxiliary valves are available in two different port configurations:

  • The 10-port valve kit (P/N 22185-62703)
  • The 6-port valve kit (P/N 22185-62704)

Procedure

  1. To start, locate the auxiliary valve kit and a medium-sized Phillips-head screwdriver.
  2. Turn off the Dionex Inuvion IC System main power switch on the rear panel of the system.
  3. Open the system door and find the accessory panel located to the left of the main injection valve. The auxiliary valve and regenerant pump use the same space on the component panel.
  4. If neither is installed, the port is covered with a metal panel; remove the panel by using a Phillips-head screwdriver to unscrew the two panel screws, and then pull the panel off the system.
  5. If a regenerant pump is installed, disconnect the electrical cable and set the pump aside.
  6. The accessory opening contains two electrical connectors of differing sizes. Connect the auxiliary valve to the matching electrical connector.
  7. Secure the valve to the system by aligning the holes so that the two outermost screws can be tightened in place.
  8. Close the system door and turn on the main power switch.
