Items needed:

  • Dionex CRD 200, 2 mm (P/N 062986)
  • 5 cc disposable plastic syringe (P/N 016640)
  • 10-32 luer adapter (P/N 046888)
  • Degassed DI water

Procedure

  1. Place the required items on a clean work surface near the Dionex Inuvion IC System. Unbox the Dionex CRD and remove the plugs and any other packing material.
  2. To hydrate the Dionex CRD, push approximately 3 mL of degassed DI water through the ELUENT IN port, using the 5 cc syringe and 10-32 luer adapter.
  3. Discard the effluent from the ELUENT OUT port into the waste beaker.
  4. Using the 5 cc syringe, push 5 mL of degassed water through the REGEN IN port.
  5. IMPORTANT

Use gentle (but steady) pressure to prevent damage to the membrane of the Dionex CRD.

  6. Discard effluent from the REGEN OUT port into the waste beaker.
  7. Wait approximately 10 minutes to fully hydrate the membrane in the Dionex CRD.
  8. Then, connect the suppressor ELUENT OUT to the Dionex CRD ELUENT IN.
  9. Place the Dionex CRD in the holder to the left of the suppressor.
  10. Connect the CRD ELUENT OUT to the conductivity cell INPUT.
  11. Direct the CRD REGEN OUT to waste.
  12. Connect the CRD REGEN IN to the suppressor REGEN OUT.
