NOTE
Using an eluent generation setup (including a Dionex EGC) also requires the use of a Dionex CR-TC.
This section details the installation process for the continuously regenerated trap column. For a list of Dionex CR-TCs that are compatible with the system, see Continuously regenerated trap column (Dionex CR-TC).
Thermo Fisher Scientific service engineers can install the Dionex CR-TC during the initial system installation. Users can also install and/or replace the Dionex CR-TC.
Procedure
- To start, you will need the Dionex CR-TC and any tubing and connectors included in the ship kit, including the following items:
- 1/8-inch tubing with fittings/ferrules
- ¼-28 to 10-32 union
- PEEK tubing with fittings/ferrules
- Remove any packaging, including the shipping plugs on the Dionex CR-TC.
- Turn off and unplug the Dionex Inuvion IC System.
- Connect the PEEK tubing from the Dionex EGC outlet to the Dionex CR-TC ELUENT IN port.
- Connect the PEEK tubing to the ¼-28 to 10/32 union. Do not over-tighten the connection; a one-quarter turn of the wrench is adequate.
- Connect the ¼-inch tubing to the other end of the union.
- Connect the Dionex CR-TC ELUENT OUT to the Dionex CR-TC REGEN IN.
- Connect the Dionex CR-TC REGEN OUT to the long translucent tubing. This enables waste liquid to be directed into an adjacent waste beaker.
- From the Inuvion ePanel in Chromeleon CDS, turn on the analytical pump with the flow rate set at 1 mL/min. The pressure will increase; wait for 10 minutes.
- Turn off the analytical pump by selecting the Off button on the Inuvion ePanel; the pressure will drop.
- Disconnect and remove the REGEN OUT, REGEN IN, and ELUENT OUT tubing from the Dionex CR-TC. Do not disconnect the ELUENT IN port tubing.
- Mount the Dionex CR-TC on the mounting pins.
- Connect the REGEN OUT tubing and direct it to waste.
- Connect the Dionex CR-TC REGEN IN to the suppressor REGEN OUT tubing.
- Connect the Dionex CR-TC ELUENT OUT to the Dionex EGC degasser ELUENT IN tubing.
- Connect the Dionex CR-TC electronics cable to the CR-TC port on the Dionex Inuvion IC System.
