Procedure

  1. From the Chromeleon CDS ePanel, turn off the analytical pump.
  2. Disconnect the Dionex EGC electrical cable from the EGC connector on the Dionex Inuvion IC System top cover.
  3. Remove the Dionex EGC 500 VENT line from the cartridge by unscrewing the luer lock from the luer adapter.
  4. TIP

If necessary, use a wrench to hold the luer adapter in place while unscrewing the vent line.

  5. Discard the old EGC VENT line.
  6. WARNING

Whenever the Eluent Generator Cartridge (EGC) is replaced, the EGC vent line must also be replaced. Failure to do so may result in rupture or explosion of the EGC reservoir.

  7. Remove the VENT line elbow adaptor (P/N 303057).
  8. Install the EGC vent plug attached to the EGC electrical cable. This prevents leaks from the vent opening when you turn the cartridge over in step 8.
  9. Lift the Dionex EGC 500 straight up and out of the cartridge holder.
  10. Turn the Dionex EGC 500 upside down and set it in the cartridge service area on top of the Dionex Inuvion IC System.
  11. Disconnect the EGC IN and EGC OUT lines from the INLET and OUTLET ports on the Dionex EGC 500.
  12. Follow the instructions in the Dionex EGC 500 manual to prepare an expended cartridge for disposal or to store a partially used cartridge for later use.
