Sample is delivered via manual sample injection or through an autosampler.

Samples requiring analysis can be manually injected into the injection port on top of the system (see image below) with a syringe. A black adapter comes with Dionex Inuvion IC Systems, while a white luer adapter (P/N 024305) is included in the system Ship Kit. The white luer adapter is shown connected to the black adapter to indicate how to assemble and then install both components.

For automated sample injection, the Dionex Inuvion IC System must be connected to an autosampler. The two tubing chases (left and right) on the component panel of the Dionex Inuvion IC System allow the autosampler to be placed on either side of the system, as the tubing can be directed through either chase.

There are two techniques for loading samples into the sample loop:

  • With an autosampler
  • With a syringe or vacuum syringe via the injection port

Both the injection valve port and the autosampler are plumbed to the injection valve. The injection valve port is plumbed through the injection port chase and a channel in the column heater holder (if a column heater is installed), as shown in the following image, or else around the column holder.
