In this tutorial, you will set up set up four sample groups for the analysis, based on the sample types: Blank, IdentificationOnly, Labeled, and Sample.

To generate the sample groups for the analysis, do the following:

Procedure

  1. On the Sample Groups and Ratios page of the wizard, in the Study Variables area, select the Sample checkbox.
  2. The Blank, IdentificationOnly, Labeled, and Sample sample groups appear in the Generated Sample Groups area.

  4. Select Finish to save the study and close the wizard.
  5. The new study opens to the tabbed Input Files page, which displays the Analysis pane to the right.
  6. The Analysis pane lists the eleven input files and the Result File field (editable).
  7. At the top of the pane, the By File checkbox is unchecked by default. Thus, the analysis will combine the mass spectral data in the into a single result file.
  8. The selected processing workflow does not require further input and the Run button is active.

  10. Although the Run button is active, the processing workflow includes a few parameter settings that you will optimize for this tutorial. To customize the workflow, in the study, select the tabbed Workflows page.
  11. The Workflows page opens, displaying the graphical Workflow Tree (center) and the Workflow Nodes pane (left).
