CAUTION
Client/server installations must be performed by experienced Chromeleon administrators. For further information, refer to the Chromeleon 7 Enterprise Documentation.
Installation of Chromeleon in a client/server environment follows the same steps as for installations on stand-alone workstations. Follow the steps as described in Install and configure MS software components. Use the latest supported version of the driver available as defined by the Driver Compatibility Matrix. Contact Thermo Fisher Scientific Service for details.
Many MS drivers have two versions:
- A "Full" IPC version which contains Foundation elements used for instrument acquisition and
- A "Light" Client version which does not contain Foundation elements used for instrument acquisition.
The Client version of the driver allows a remote user to create new MS instrument methods and to open and edit existing instrument methods. It does not allow a remote user to tune or calibrate the MS remotely. For a breakdown of the intended driver usage, see the following table.
| Number of drivers allowed | Driver type | Should Foundation be installed? | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
