NOTE

The upgrade from BioPharma Finder 3.2 (or earlier) to BioPharma Finder 5.4 is not directly supported. You must perform a stepwise upgrade first to BioPharma Finder 4.0QF1, and then to BioPharma Finder 5.4.

If you have BioPharma Finder 3.2 or prior and attempt to install BioPharma Finder 5.4, the installer will display a warning that the upgrade is not supported.

Perform a stepwise upgrade for BioPharma Finder 3.2 or older

Procedure

  1. First, install BioPharma Finder 4.0QF1:
  2. Download and unzip the BioPharma Finder 4.0QF1 − Installer.zip file from the Flexera Thermo Scientific Software Download and Licensing Portal account.
  3. Double-click BioPharmaFinderSetup.exe to launch the installer wizard.
  4. Proceed through the installer wizard to complete installation.
  5. Next, install the BioPharma Finder 5.4 software.

NOTE

For more information about the data conversion process, refer to the topic “Data conversion from legacy applications” in any of the BioPharma Finder online Help system.

During the upgrade of the BioPharma Finder software, two main folders will automatically be backed up:

  1. C:\ProgramData\ThermoScientific\Databases
  2. C:\ProgramData\ThermoScientific\BioPharma

Copies of these files will be placed in C:\ProgramData\ThermoScientific\BioPharma and named using the following notation: <<legacy application version number>>_backup_DateAndTime.

NOTE

When the software has been successfully installed and upgraded, the backup files can be deleted or moved to another archive location to save space on the processing computer.
