Install the BioPharma Finder 5.4 software

Procedure

  1. Close all open Thermo Scientific applications.
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. Download and unzip the BioPharma Finder 5.4 − Installer.zip file from the Flexera™ Thermo Scientific Software Download and Licensing Portal account. Then, double-click BioPharmaFinderSetup.exe to launch the installer wizard.
  4. Insert the BioPharma Finder 5.4 USB flash drive into the computer.
  5. The Autorun program automatically launches the installer wizard.
  6. If the installer wizard does not start, navigate to the USB drive location in Windows Explorer and double-click BioPharmaFinderSetup.exe.
  7. In the installer wizard, do the following:
  8. Select the License Agreement tab to view the terms and conditions of the end-user license agreement and then select the I agree to the license terms and conditions checkbox.
  9. You can also select the User Agreement link at the bottom of the window to open the license agreement file and save it to your computer.
  10. Select the System Requirements tab to check the system requirements.

  11. NOTE

    Refer to the Release Notes for more information on the minimum and recommended system requirements for BioPharma Finder 5.4.

  12. The installer wizard checks for the minimum system requirements. If any of the specifications are not met, the system requirements list shows an error or warning message and displays a summary report of any issues.

  13. IMPORTANT

    If the Adobe® Acrobat® Reader DC™ or Pro DC™ application is not already installed on your system, click the link to install the software before proceeding.

  14. (Optional) Select the Documents tab to view the Installation Instructions, Release Notes, Example Data, and other documents for the BioPharma Finder 5.4 software.
  15. When you are finished reviewing the tabs, select Install (for new software users) or Upgrade (for upgrading legacy software users) to proceed with the installation process.

  16. NOTE

    If a Windows Security Alert dialog box appears, select Allow Access.

  17. If the installer detects previous versions of the BioPharma Finder application on your system, select Yes at the prompt to uninstall all previous software versions and upgrade your legacy data.
  18. The installer wizard automatically backs up your legacy results onto the computer and upgrades these results to be compatible with the new software version.

  19. TIP

    If the installer determines that there is not enough disk space for automatic backup, a message prompts you to delete files on your system to free storage space. Delete files as necessary, and then select Retry to retry the automatic backup.

  20. Once installation is complete, on the installer Welcome page, select Launch to open the software and activate a licence or select Close to exit the installer wizard.
  21. On the installer Welcome page, you can view the IQ Report, Installer Log, and Setup Summary Log files as necessary

IMPORTANT

To view the IQ Report after installing BioPharma Finder, you must clear a security setting in the Adobe Acrobat application before you start the BioPharma Finder software installation.

To clear the security setting to view the installation report, open Acrobat Reader DC and choose Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced). Then, clear the Enable Protected Mode at Startup checkbox click OK.
