A workbook is a saved set of data containing the results from an experiment. You can export this data to a file (.wbpf) compatible with the Chromeleon™ chromatography data system for further use.
Currently, there are three types of workbooks you can create in BioPharma Finder:
- For peptide mapping analysis experiments, a target peptide workbook contains information about selected peptides that you can use to run targeted experiments in either the BioPharma Finder application or in the Chromeleon™ data system.
- You can save selected results from a peptide mapping analysis experiment from the Results table on the Process and Review page. Additionally, you can save theoretical components to a peptide workbook from the Theoretical Protein/Peptide Manager. See "View the Results tables" and "Save a peptide workbook" in the Peptide Mapping Analysis User Guide.
- Peptide workbooks assign an editable grouping parameter (Relative Quantitation Group Number) to each component to aid in identifying and comparing similar components in the experiment.
- In the Peptide Workbook Editor, you can change the charge state range, m/z range, and/or number of isotopes parameters, and then update the workbook without leaving the page.
- For oligonucleotide analysis experiments, an oligo workbook contains information about selected oligonucleotides and is compatible with the Chromeleon™ data system.
- You can save selected results from an oligonucleotide analysis experiment from the Results table on the Process and Review page. See View the Results tables and Save an oligo workbook in the Oligonucleotide Analysis User Guide. In addition to experimental results, you can generate and customize theoretical oligonucleotide results that can be shared with Chromeleon™. See Use the Oligonucleotide Calculator and Workbook to generate theoretical results in the Oligonucleotide Analysis User Guide.
- Like target peptide workbooks, you can change the charge state range, m/z range, and/or number of isotopes parameters, and then update the workbook without leaving the page.
- For intact mass analysis experiments, an intact workbook contains the processing method parameters and results that you can use to run targeted experiments in the Chromeleon™ data system.
- You can save selected results from an intact mass analysis experiment from the Results table on the Process and Review page. See "View the Results table" and "Save an intact workbook" in the Intact Mass Analysis User Guide.
- Unlike target peptide and oligo workbooks, you cannot change the charge state range, m/z range, and/or number of isotopes parameters in the Intact Workbook Editor.
After saving a workbook, you can edit the workbook and export it for use in the Chromeleon™ chromatography data system.
